Meet Yoko Henry, Rightio's July Employee of the Month.

Rightio's July employee of the month, Yoko Henry took responsibility and initiative to help the team, during the summer holidays.

Summer might seem like the easy season to work at Rightio - after all plumbers and gas engineers get most of their work when the temperatures plummet down. But with all the summer vacations and days off, summer can be challenging when organising the workload.

Of course, if like Yoko Henry, you love a challenge then July is your time to shine.

Yoko certainly didn't expect to be recognised as a July Employee of the Month. The good news were announced as she was on call, and she couldn't even express her shock until a few minutes later.

The nomination that won her the July award was:

"In a week where many staff have been away on holiday Yoko stepped up and by not only doing 12 hour shifts but taking the responsibility of Board Co-ordinator. She has shown great leadership and initiative, and is a true asset to the Rightio family."

She says: "Everyone made a big deal about it, I felt like I was the centre of attention, and I was glad to hear people were saying I deserved it.I was putting in a lot of effort, and I think everyone appreciated it. It was tiring but I committed to all-day shifts because I wanted to help the company maintain the expected results."

Yoko joined the Rightio's Logistics department almost a year ago because she wanted a job, which would allow her to multitask, rather than keep to a script.

"Every day is different, I love it. You're not going to come to work, and have the same day. Even if I have a hard day I don't let it bring me down, and show on my calls, I always keep my mood up."

When there is a hard day, Yoko says it's the Rightio engineers who always make her laugh. With a special mention for P. Treleaven who, in Yoko's own words: "always makes my day".

Winning the Employee of the month certainly comes with responsibilities:

"The days after I won Employee of the Month, everyone seemed to be expecting that I suddenly would know everything. People were making jokes, or asking me for advice, or congratulating me. You definitely end up setting, and being an example."

Yoko uses her spare time to catch up on crime documentaries or just to relax. In fact she spent her £50 Amazon voucher on a selection of Yankee candles, Utopia towels and a Morphie Richards blender. We're betting there is a nice pampering night planned ahead.

Her message for the next winner is to embrace the moment, and enjoy it:

"I felt very special, I appreciated that people noticed I was doing all that. Because a lot of times you go to work, and you just think you're providing a service, and everyone is in their own little world but it's so nice to know people actually notice your efforts, and getting this recognition.
