Why do I need a gas safe certificate?

Landlords are legally required to have a Gas Safe certificate (also known as a CP12) to comply with The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. This is to prove to tenants that their boiler and any other gas appliances in the property, such as a gas cooker or gas fire, has been checked by a Gas Safe engineer within the last year. Aside from the legal aspect, a certificate provides some helpful benefits, such as:

• Avoiding expensive breakdowns
• Maximising fuel efficiency and reducing bills
• Checking for carbon monoxide leaks
• Ensuring the safety of the appliance
• Ensuring correct pressure
• Ensuring correct operation of controls
• Preventing a leaking boiler from becoming an issue
• Ensuring safe ignition

Could your heating system benefit from a power flush?

Does your boiler cut out or make banging noises? Do your hot water taps fluctuate between hot and cold? Do you notice issues such as cold radiators, excessively hot pipes, and dirty bleed water? If so, it's very probable your heating system would benefit from a power flush.

A power flush is a maintenance procedure that removes sludge from your heating system. This mucky build-up causes blockages and makes it harder for the water to circulate through your pipes and radiators. This means your boiler has to stay on longer, work harder, and costs you more money. Even if your boiler is fairly new, sludge can really affect its efficiency.

As well as power flushes, our fully qualified engineers can carry out a variety of boiler maintenance processes, such as magna cleaning, scale reducer applications, CO2 and flue gas tests, and inhibitor and central heating protection. If you have an urgent problem, we also offer emergency boiler repair services.

Call us now to discuss which maintenance procedures your heating system could benefit from today!
